Blackpool Transport Services
Serving a population of more than 150,000 residents and an estimated 20 million visitors a year, Blackpool Transport operates 14 commercial bus routes on the Fylde Coast and a small number of college/school services using 95 Alexander Dennis buses. Improved timetables, freshly branded routes, and a renewed focus on responding to customer feedback have contributed to a transformative year for bus services on the Fylde Coast operated by Blackpool Transport. Building on the success of previous initiatives that grouped together services with similar start and end points, it has taken further steps to offer customers even more choice, improved frequency and better connections with other modes of public transport. Patronage across the Blackpool Transport bus and tram network has increased by nearly 15,000 customers a month, despite Uber entering the local market, fare cap increases, and discounted parking offered by the local authority.
